Posted in the wrong place though as this area is for AARs.
In stock air loses are heavy in air to air combat. What was lost to AA and what were pilot qualities?

Hard to know without seeing individual shots of the ships screens, but if i saw this on a replay, i'd figure SUWANNEE is a goner, SANGAMON should be ok (unless there was a "Massive Explosion/Fuel Explosion/Ammo explosion" message). CHENANGO ditto.

Sorry this will be part of an AAR
The suwanne did sink , no special damage on the others. How tough are CVE I never met them before ?
my pilot quality is variable from 60 -85
They are agood twelve hexes from a base

If you start them back with sufficient escort and avoid further attacks, and the base is pretty good (either large base, or at least size 3 with some ARs) then they should be OK... if they get attacked again, all bets are off.

I am Japs - cannot pursue them except with subs ( I imagine they must be going slow). The allied CV are close, I was wondering what their chances were.
Would they be over 50 combined damgae ?

Over 50 sys + flood + fire? Probably, but that will go away as fire and flood are cleared... i think flight ops are limited by SYS, iirc.
As far as their chances: i'd say ~90% for either ship making it, and ~75-80% of them both making it unless something else happens, or the base they are headed for is really crummy.

the result will be Suwannee being sunk for sure if all hits were true and not FOW. And once again a stock example of the absolutely off air combat when not even a dozen Corsairs alone take down 4 daitais of enemy aircraft...
