I can get a good initialization but when I try to load my first game turn I get an error:

Did you apply the hotfix from the pinned thread in this forum?

I did, the only thing I found in the hot fix was a dll file. Is that right? I replaced the one in the main folder with the one you posted.

In the main folder or in the \tools\witpstaff folder as per the instructions?

Ok, I'm not sure if it will cause any issues for you putting that DLL in the main folder. If you're planning to start any PBEMs you may want to uninstall/reinstall and only overwrite the one in the \tools\witpstaff sub-folder.

Witpstaff searches the current directory for the DLL. Which is \tools\witpstaff when running witpstaff.

It doesn't hurt to copy the DLL to both the main directory and the Witpstaff one.
