Who are these guys? This is the second time they slaughtered a raid over Burma. The last time they took out a handful of zeroes too. [:D]
Should they be checking them for steroids or something?
(it's cut off but they lost 1 plane!)

Think that is the export version of the P-40 sent/sold to China. And that would be the American Volunteer Group meeting and greeting the Japanese.

That is indeed the AVG. The Flying Tigers. Tread lightly in Burma when they are around...

I'm using them to chew up the Japs at Rangoon. Defending my transports quite nicely! No more freebies, Tojo!

Wait....is using the AVG gamey in a PBEM?I want to know before I get the game because from what it looks like the AVG is a Anti-Aircraft super-weapon.

Not at all. It has better pilots and aircraft than pretty much any allied fighter unit in China at the start of the game, but they die like anyone else.

Nothing gamey about it! But each one that goes down is currency spent my lad.

You have to tread lightly, but they are not a super weapon. They are in limited supply and CAN be worn down. As the IJ player you need to wait til you have completed your objectives in Malaya before building up the 3rd Air Division forces that will support any moves toward Rangoon. I recommend focusing as many of your early Oscar units toward Burma and sweeping vigorously in large number (1-2 full Sentai at a time) and then seeing how that goes. Additionally the 47th Ind Fighter Chutai can be attacjed to the Burma forces and will add another element to your assault on the AVG and their environs.

I was just wondering as I'd imagine it would pretty annoying as the Japanese player when ever time you try to do a major air offensive the AVG keeps poping up and killing your aircraft, because the allied player is constantly transfering the AVG to places where their airforces are losing.I would figure you guys would have some kind of house rule like keeping the AVG only china or something like that.

Transferring the AVG keeps them out of action while they're in transit. It can also build up fatigue, which makes the pilots less effective. Finally, only a few allied bases have the support personnel in place to keep that many planes flying.
