In playing the Coral Sea scenario against the AI, I received several reports of the wrong carriers and cruisers on my side sinking.

Yep that is what is supposed to happen :)

The ship sin the sunk list on your side are know to you... but the enemy ones are "guesses" for a while. It may know a BB has sunk but may identify a different ship or even class.

FOW

Unlikely.

It's my ship being reported on, but for the wrong TF. That suggests a fencepost error with a pointer. So far, no problem, but wait till the contents of the TF are incompatible with the report. This is happening frequently.

Well, playing as allied i've had reports about japanese TF that turned out to be mine, so it's no so unlikely :)

In AE FoW it's sometimes funny. :)

I've seen the same problem. Playing Allies in Coral Sea. Jap TF attacks Yorktown TF Blows Yorktow to pieces.
Messages say
Squad VT-2 redirecting to Lexington,
Squad VF-2 redirecting to Lexington,
Lexington sinks

The Lexington which is in a different TF in different hex, was never attacked.

After the scenario is over the list of Sunk ships fail to lisk the Yorktown (but it appears Japan got the points)

If this is FOW then cool :) If its a bug then i figured i'd post a screen.

I'm guessing if its FOW its because that message list at the bottom gets shared between both players right? so it can't be 100% accurate?

Well, I would hope common sense would dictate that a ship cannot sink twice but maybe it meant Northampton type ship...[:D]

Ouch, Salt Lake City sank with a torpedo and a bomb? Was there a massive explosion or something?

Well yea common sense, fog of war or a bug :) thats why i posted along with others lol. I'm hoping fog of war.

Yea it suffered a mag explosion and sank. I'm really digging the new Japanese AI :) sneaky bastards. They even have subs sinking ships froming from the west coast which i didnt expect. With this new game board it looks like instead of garrisoning manila it might be better to hold clark field since its Jungle and dense which gives it 3x defense. Manila is light urban city which only gives x2.

What do you think?
