Network and error code 200

I have a desk top PC with WItPAE on it and to keep from being tied down to my desk I tried to network it to my wireless laptop so I can run the same game on both (same game meaning what I do on the laptop actually done on the desktop). When trying to run on the laptop I access the game and the files start loading then stop and I get fatal error 200

Desk top is XP, laptop is Vista. Both run the original WItP with no problems. I have other programs networked in that manner and they are working ok.

Error code 200 is ?

Any help would be appreciated.

read the features of the game and networking may not be possible and using two different OS's. You might be able to use your video cards ability to use two monitors or you might be lucky and find someone with a lot more computer savy than me...good luck and keep us posted.

You're having a problem with the fact that the game requires some of the things the installer puts in the system where you install it. If you didn't install it on the laptop also, it won't work there. We allow all customers to install their copy on two different PCs.

Thanks Erik

Loading on two computers kind of defeats the purpose of what I wanted to be able to do which was play the same scenario on one computer and have that computer act as a server so I could continue the same game with all it's changes on the laptop while sitting in my recliner.

I am happy to say I got it to work.

The first was to actually share the files. Window's fought that one but I won out.

I figured maybe it was maybe a XP to Vista thing so I loaded WItPAE on the laptop also.

The game would load but once the first move was done it would give me a permission error.

Got that straightened out and just for chuckles I again tried running the game loaded on the desktop from the laptop and it worked.

Honestly I do not know if the problem solver was just the permissions or both the permissions and having the game loaded on both computers. However it works so I'm not pushing my luck. I can now run literally the same game at my desk with the desktop or wandering anywhere in the house with the laptop. Well almost anywhere. I don't think my wife would be receptive to my playing the game in bed at night and I'm not pushing my luck there either.

Hope it helps anyone else who may want to have the freedom.

NOTE They are not on the same drive designation in the two computers
