AI Problems with Scripts and Subs

Playing allies against an Historical AI for Scenario 1 and I have seen two potential issues that make this near impossible to do anything for the 1st six months bar shut up shop in both India and PH/West Coast.

1st issue - I set up a sub line between Borneo and Java and Borneo and the Celebes to trap the KB in that area. It was all working fine until the point when 1/2 my subs reverted to computer control and 'deserted' the line??

2nd issue - As if the above was not enough, the AI took Canton and Baker Islands in early Jan 42 and then took Port Moresby in mid Jan 42. I checked the AI scripting in the editor and these events don't happen for months!

So what is the AI playing at? It ignores me, it ignores its script. Now maybe I've not read the scripts correctly which might explain 2, but how do you explain 1?

2nd issue - There are 12 or 13 possible ai files for scenario 1 and 2, the ai can randomly choose from when first the loading the campaign.

1st issue I can not comment on need Dons' input.

OK, looking through the structure I can see how this work, but it is still limited to the events described in the editor and I can't find one that tells the AI to go for Port Moresby in mid Jan though, nor anything that tells it to strike out for Canton and Baker Islands other than raids in mid 42??

Perversely, this one worries me as if the AI over extends itself too early my later island hopping will be made easier as the defences will be spread more thinly. If the flip side of a screamingly hard first six months is a subsequent easy ride, then the challenge posed by the game wont last.

If the settings are made harder to compensate for this eventuality, then there is every chance that the allies won't survive the first six months.

Andy will have to comment on this as I do not know which and there can be up to 1989 scripts per file.

There is an option with all of the above
