AufKlaarung counter 1944

I played an RBG PBEM with Falco.

It was a good scenario.

I envisioned the RBG as a counter strike of a decimated retreating German division. ...Many recon vehicles because that's all the div had left.

I redid the RBG to meet that vision.

I post it here now.

It needs new models I made for it!!! A "PzII L Luchs" and a "PzII J 'ohne aufbau'" (turretless Piwg). They are included in this pack here.

----------
The mission, should you choose to accept it, Jim.

[From the scenario's mission briefing.]

1944 [1500 points]

To:
X D.Pz

----
Situation as of 12:40PM.

After being routed, most of division destroyed.

Div's Operations Stabff nowhere to be found. You and Major Befel the only Command officers left (as Oberst Spellir is incapacitated); and a Major Schmet recently in charge of what remains of regimental artillery.

As the withdrawal has affored time and space, two makeshift KGs have been re-assembled: Spellir's (now your's) and Maj Befel's.

X D.Pz holds the only road through the marshes.

The Soviets must proceed down that road.

Oberst Spellir was going to mount a counter attack with his KG. ...There is nowhere left for X D.Pz to retreat to (marshes to south west [off map]) and Divisional Stab's MG Kompanie is stranded at the plateau.

Your orders are to sweep around and link up with X D.Pz's Stab MG komp near the summit, following Ob Spellir's plan.

Maj Befel's KG is to dig in in place to your north west [off Map] and protect your north flank. Ultimately he will draw fire from the advancing Soviets that you --being deployed on the summit --should be able to decisively respond to.

Major Schmet's Artillery (into the marsh a bit) is ordered to deploy for fire missions.

Your KG has all the Aufkl and most Pioniers.

---------
Divisional Assets:

..Most of Shutzen Regiment anihilated.

..Most Panzers destroyed.

..Most Pz Jg destroyed.

..Much of artillery rgt captured.

..Stab and Nachrichten etc unaccounted for.

..Remaining, under your control--

-Auflk elements --including light tanks

-Combat Engineers

-Pltn Pz IVG

..Some Haubitz (contingent on Maj Schmet)

..Remaining, in summit area--

-Stab's Maschinen Geweher company (w/ PzShek)

-Some Mortars

-remnant one Pz Gren Kompanie --unmounted

-PzV(Panther) (recovered)

..Remaining, under Maj Befel (to your north)--

-Combat Engineers

-Pltn PzIV

-PzJg

(As it was a PBEM, I didn't have Intel. May I suggest that when an RGB is used for PBEM that a Screen capture of the force mix is posted.)

Intel:

We were hit hard today by divisions of armor and infantry.

Expect more of the same, covered by artillery and Schturmovicks. The whole front is in Turmoil!

This scenario greatly benefits from my 'INF pack' and its 'HMG fix'. they are both in the mods forum here.
