What would be really helpful would be, if you could click on a HQs on the main map,and have units under its command hi-lited.Would this be possible in a future patch? Great game by the way,its a monster, but I love it.

That would definately be helpful however I am not sure of the effort required to make it happen.

It would be excellent . . . especially as I try to run my turns by HQ organization.
I cannot imagine implementation would be too tough. 1) Identify the unit as a HQ 2) Alter (Add a new.) the LCU graphic at a base . . . possibly by giving the LCU symbol a halo or backlight glow. Currently the LCU size on the graphic is distinguished by colour (or "color" if you wish): Larger aggregations have a dark colour; smaller ones are pale.
How about it 2by3 guys? [8D]

Especially if it could be on the grand strategic map. So that you can make sure at 1 glance.

What would also be helpful, if in the unit list for HQ not to show units with the same HQ but units subordinate to this HQ. That is a lot more relevant.

Speaking of HQs, I still don't understand the point of land HQs besides giving combat bonuses. I know Air HQs play a huge role in allowing replacements and such. But why keep my LCUs near their Command/Army/Corps HQs? Won't an HQ give combat bonuses to all LCUs within its radius regardless of organization? Is there a logistic element I'm missing?
Edit: Also, what is the significance of a ship's attachment to an HQ? Is it receiving the HQ leader's bonuses, even way out at sea? Or are Naval HQs only good for accelerating ship repair (per the manual)?

For those wanting a strategic view of which HQ's units are where:
Isn't that what Ctrl-A is for?

I'm thinking of creating a list of the allied command structure which shows all the HQs and subordinate HQs with some info like who is the commander, but before I do that it would be stupid of me not to ask if someone has already done something like that?
Paul Roberts: It's true that Ctrl-A shows you that info, but only for the topmost HQ. For example I would like to see LCUs that are attached to Southern Command of India Command, but thats impossible. I play the full campaign giving orders command by command and information like that would make it so much easier. At least until I memorize the command structure.
Edit: It seems Barb has done exactly what I wanted. Those will definitely come in handy when playing.
