In the manual it says that instructors can be placed into the training group to increase training. I think that means they graduate from the program with more experience as it seems that is still takes 12 months to train a reserve pilot regardless of the instructor.
This is my understanding from reading the manual, no in-game experience on this.

From what I've read earlier, they may increase the number of pilots that get trained a bit. Every little bit counts. I haven't messed with that part of the game yet though....

It's supposed to increase experience of new pilots too, I think. But like michaelm said in other thread, one needs quite a few pilots transferred there to have real impact. 10 might be a start.

HOW do you transfer pilots to 'Training Command'?
I'm obviously being a bit thick as I can't see where you action it from, despite reading the manual [:(]
playing the grand campaign, Dec 7 start, now at Dec 28.
Help !!!!

Aircraft Replacement Pool Screen, then click the Reserve Pool button at the bottom. Pilots who can be sent to TC will have yellow names. Click the name and you'll be asked if you're sure.

Well none of my reserve pool pilots names are in yellow - that explains why I can't transfer any pilots.
when does this facility become available? is there a minimum criteria that needs to be reached?
Screen shot sorted on Exp

I'm sure there are but I don't know if they are known criteria.

I have been able to transfer Lynch, Bong and some other guy into Training Command during first 6 months of game.... I have no idea what the requirements are to be able to transfer from Reserve pool to TC.

As a JFB, I have been able to transfer OK-status pilots with over 80 experience. Not all of them (there were 2-3 that for some reason would not turn yellow), but all of those transfered complied with that.

yes, exp has to be 80+, this is modified by fatigue, so they need to have rest first.
They do not give your new pilots an exp bonus. Pilots come out of training with the national average maximum (around 45-50). with training command, you can tweak the results a bit so that you get more pilots with 45 exp. thats it.
interesting to R&R some experienced pilots and to increase the exp. value of the japanese pilots later on once you start to deplete your pilot pool.

It certainly appears that pilots are going to require 3 or so months in on-map training to get their needed skill sets up to speed. Makes sense.
So I've not tried this yet, but disband/withdraw now doesn't require another group with that plane type at the same base anymore? We can disband training squadrons to the pool (planes and pilots)? Does withdraw keep the planes with the group and the pilots in the pool?

I thought at one point the dev team said that 'training command' was an option, but not implemented?
Did this make the final cut after all?
