Thinking of Buying

Hello all!

Normally I play The Operational Art of War but I have been looking for a grand WWII game that will simulate all aspects of the war, production, U-Boat War, Strategic Air War, etc.

I prefer games with counter symbols rather than tank or other equipment icons, turn-based, and solitaire is OK.

I have been looking at this game and the PC version of War in Europe by Decision Games.

Does anyone have both? If so which would you recommend?

I am sure both are great games I just want the most complete experience without getting bogged down in micromanagement, I found War in the Pacific too heavy on the book keeping side and not as enjoyable as I would have liked.

If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback.

You might try the demo and decide do you like Time of Wrath or not.

I dont think that War in Europe can be played against an AI, from their website it looks like you have to play against another human player?

My reasons to buy ToW
-Perfect blend of complexity, just above a beer & pretzels game
-Feels like a board game but the computer figues out the CRT's for you, no charts to look up everytime
-Active developers who interact with the community
-Only some very minor problems at release, 1 hotfix released and a patch coming soon
-Modding community is already starting to make some nice counters and maps
-and finally...I'm Pro-Polish! Maybe to the level of Norman Davies!

Everybody loves Poland and the Polish people!

Did you know that one of the supreme court justices of the State of Oklahoma in the USA was an Officer for the Polish Army in 1939? He didn't see much fighting. He hung around his home in Lvov after the 1939 campaign until one day, he decided to walk to the Rumanian coast. He caught a boat and made it to England. He joined the Polish infantry divisions raised by Britain and he fought against the Germans in Italy. He was captured by the Germans.

After the war, he somehow made his way to the USA. Boy, we are lucky to have him ! What a great guy.

I visited Poland myself in 1993. I went to the Masurian Lakes resort area. I hung out and drank beer with some Polish dudes there. Unemployment there at that time was 30 percent.
