DCG Setup

Hi,
I was considering trying a DCG after many years. In the past setup was a pain, especially with motorized. Trucks and troops would be scattered and would have to be organized before playing. Has this improved at all in latest versions?
THanks,
Lin
p.s. any other DCG improvements beyond OOB would be of interest to hear about too. Thx!

Set-up remains the same I believe. If you need to exit before set-up is complete you can however rename the .ccd file with a .scn extension so that you can later re-open it in the scenario editor to complete or modify the set-up. I haven't actually tried that myself, but I hear it works well.
A big improvement is the inclusion of Simovitch's guide to modifying Dynamic campaigns. You can find that in your Manuals folder I believe.

Division setup isn't so bad, whew when you get to Corps level. It would be nice to have an interactive setup....ie...in transit (meeting engagement) or Defence Stance (Static) sort of work like an AB drop....that way it is controllable in an obveall view from Company Level

Indeed, or something similar to Steel Panthers:World at War, where you can select a whole group and re-place them. Probably a nightmare to program in tho'.

This thread tells what I did and went through
tm.asp?m=1484307

When it gets to that point, and DCG is that huge, it's just isn't worth it anymore.By that point you should playing an operational level wargame, not a platoon one.
It's nice to have an option to actually play a DCG that big though.

I play corp level games religiously, don't go that far, but I still play 'em! Just started with a new DCG with my own custom made org.
Rename the CPN file for your commander to .scn then you can basically replace all the units as you want, though it's a bit of pain taking all the units off, placing them how you want is fairly easy.
Just try not to peek at the other guys deployment!

The generated battles take OOB's and place them automatically. Would it not be fairly simple to use the generated battle code (i.e. meeting engagement) but have it utilize your input OOB instead of a pre-defined one?
