Support Ships
Rockets and mortars ect.

You can use mortars and rocket support ships in an indirect fire way. you would have to set them as computer controlled, the computer would then assign targets within a few turns, which is near the enemy VH's, and the only thing you would
be able to do is move the target location once the computer assigns it. but parked next to a Ammo truck it would have a contiguous fire on enemy VH's

Tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#2

When fighting where mines are dont use mine ploughs to
remove the mine use them to find them!!! Use FLame Tanks or engineers with flame throwers!!! use the indirect fire and
with in 2-4 shots it will have completly wipe all the mines
within the effected hex away

If you're playing a campaign with C and C off. You will often have some experienced infantry units that have been shot up rather badly. Gather them in impromptu platoons and use them for rear security. This will keep them from being destroyed, and help prevent V hexes you've taken from being lost.

Tip!!!!!!!! #3

When playing with C&C on buy lots of scouting/Recon units there is no movement/orders limitation with these units, also reassign other units to Recon units and the movement/orders limitaion is cut by 75% because the scouting/recon uni's objective will change as he moves

I tried Tip #1 with the Assault Support Ships.

It didn't work as advertised.

What I got was a garbled message underneath the Current unit's Name, that said "LCT something to Bombard".

No animation was played for incoming rounds and no ammunition was expended.

When I tried a Hot Seat game, I got the same results. Not even a point of suppression.

So, I don't know what's happening, but it's not enough to suit me. :D

in the 3 seperate scenarios that it has occured in SPWAW were versions 2.5,4,4.5 i have yet play the IJA versus the Marines scenarios yet in ver 7.1 , and did you wait a few turns, because i noticed it occured around 3 turns after i set it to computer controlled. and this little bug was around in SP3 in both the online version and PBEM.

tip!!!! #4

when a suspected mine field is in your line of advance, use ARTY 155+ to find where they are. and if you use 203mm + with two or three direct hits will eliminate most if not all mines with in the hex (hexs)
when advancing one hex at a time and not FASTER the 10 MPH/KM your chances of triggering a mine are reduced 50-75%

I did run this test on two games for 6+ turns each.

The AI implied bombardment activity, but no ammo was expended, no animations were shown, no suppression was noted on the bombardee side. Might just be my system (7.0). Anyone else?

TIP 4A

Another excellent minefield breaker is the vehicular Flamethrowers, any vehicular flamethrower. Indirect fire into a mine hex ('Z' key) will pop the standard ten mines in 4-5 hits.

Note the GE Flammenwagen has TWO flamethrowers. They can bust a minefield in one turn!

Infantry flamethrowers don't work well for this task, tho' :(

Note the GE flamethrower HT has three flamethrowers with a range of 2.
