No sigint button in PBEM

creeping into a pbem game - now 12/16/41. About 12/12, my (allied) sigint button quit appearing, I figured perhaps some game routine concerning ??whatever?? but now notice that I am getting the sigint text files and can read from the save folder, but not in the game (there is literally a blank spot where the button should be) No biggee for me, I'd play without any sigint just to be able to play, but it's kind of like not being able to find one's beer.........

Also, in sort of an intruder alert vein - I have two DDs reporting as in Legaspi port. ie-illuminated anchor, and dwelling on the symbol = 2dd. However, nothing available for assignment to TF, nothing hiding in a shipyard. Again - of no import to me unless it leads to a 'real' problem. I don't think this has been happening from the start - I first noticed about 12/12(there's that date again)

I have reloaded the game prior to this post.

Never mind. You are probably talking about a AI game.....sorry.

No. it is a PBEM, and I watch all the combat replays (with one finger on esc, any way to dump the animations altogether?) I've had some (few) things that've gone my way, but I'm also depending on combat reports to alert me when I need to pay more attention to , you know ...that other place[:D]

any way to dump the animations altogether?

Preferences Screen. Toggle top right switch (Show Combat Animations) so it shows the red light.
In game you can have the same effect by hitting F5 (toggles Combat Animations on/off).

Hi Rainer, thanks. I just confirmed that switch is off. I've read sooo much lately, but it seems I read somewhere the animations can't be disabled in PBEM. However big fat "F5 !!" note to self, (man I hope I get a turn back tonight).

I hate to admit this but reading all those reports then trying to find them an the WitP map but I can only imagine what it is like with AE. I always wanted to have the ability to click on the report and have the game go to the location on the map as an optional feature but was to much of a wuss to ask. Never could do well with mouse over. It would take a long time to find just one so I basically gave up (SIGH)

Hi madgamer - I agree it would be nice to have a link to show map location(Let's face it that would be SWEET). I have considered notes, etc. but I end up just looking for the one that stands out. "water plant at MI is inoperable" Big units on little islands, interesting destinations...Like I said though, I'd play without it if that was the only way to play.......

By the By, this is still going on.................. Now 12-21-41. The 'asigint' text files are getting generated, so thats how I keep up on the news (Ally in PBEM) But no SIGINT button on the game screen - literally a blank space between the weather button and the end turn button. All else appears "normal". Well there are the two DDs listed in "USN Fubukis"...............
