Ok guys I've have to admit I've been lurking on your forums for years I was gonna buy WITP last year but read about AE so I decided to wait for its release I bought the game tonight hopefully my wife doesn't shoot me for spending $110 on a computer game but from what I read I should have plenty of years of enjoyment from this game. I just want to say hello to everybody and I look forward to finally joining your community

Welcome. Call a florist and have a standing order for a dozen roses to be delivered to your wife once a month. She will never complain about that expenditure and it will help you get through the problems that arise when you "spend more time with that damn game than me!"

Just remember, there's no fighting in the war room!
Welcome to the party.

Of course there is no fighting in the war room. How can you plan the fight in the middle of a fight? Silly stuff on these forums.
ACES8 welcome and don't mind us. In spite of what you read the game is not nearly as imbalanced as the inmates here.[:)]

If your wife could foresee the future, the $110 you spent for the game would be the least of her worries. What would really trouble her if she could see into the future:
1) The vast drain on your time to do anything else (talk to her, mow the lawn, read a book on the couch while she sits nearby crocheting and dreaming of growing old together, stoking the fire).
2) The vast drain on your attention span (she's talking about the children while you're 10,000 miles away planning your next moves in the Pacific)
3) The weird hours (can't sleep, so you're up until 2:30 a.m. fifty-seven nights in a row as you opponent is implimenting a dastardly offensive that threatens to isolate Pearl Harbor; and when you finally get to bed at midnight you toss and turn and get up at 5:30 a.m. to check on the outcome of some little battle in some remote and forsaken corner of the world
4) The constant need to check email to see if you have a turn from your opponent waiting in the in-box.
Zowee, what a game!

Welcome. The lobotomy for your wife will be a lot more than $100, though.

I'm lucky. My gf has to travel a lot for work so she has no problem with me spending time in front of my PC plating AE. I guess thats a way for her to know that I'm not up to no good.

Wives are easy. Just teach them how to play landing on the carrier in rough seas - after the lights go out.

Welcome from another long time lurker!
My wife has been introduced to me playing WitP years ago though.

Thank god AE looks very similar so I sneaked it past her, hehe.

Hmm, I bought AE two evenings ago for £45.
Since then, appeasement to the missus has cost me:
New Battledress - £40
Rations while out on manoeveurs - £30
Fabric (for her war against sewing patterns)- £30
Assorted chemical warfare items - £30
---------------
£130
On the plus side, the tiger will now definitely eat me last as she's perfectly content.
When Matrix said British customers would not see the final cost of the game until they received the receipt - which receipt did they mean? [:(]
PS Hello to all decloaked lurkers
