In the scenario editor (as with the original game) I'm confused with the carrier aircraft.

For example, the USS Lexington has the following squadrons assigned:
o 1694-VF-2, Delay 0
o 1695-VBF-2, Delay 9999
o 1696-VS-2, Delay 0, Withdraw 430301, Return 450102
o 1697-VB-2, Delay 0
o 1698-VT-2, Delay 0
o 2613-VMSB-231, Delay 411206, Withdraw 450801, Return 9999

Can someone explain to me why a squadron is assigned to the Lexington with a delay of 9999?

Is VMSB-231 assigned to Lexington as a transit squadron and not as part of the carrier air group?

VBF-2 has the delay because it's what vs-2 turns into plus the change from db type to fb corsairs. During the war the US had several air group iterations, the first being early 42 with increase of fighters then a combining of the db units into one group then the iteration of the VBF groups.

The VSMB was a historical thing (there's 2 at start this way Sara & Lex) as it was on board for transfer to forward base but unless you move it off, it'll stay on till it's w/d date. I assume that's the case if you don't move it off (I did) & I asked but got no reply to what would happen to cv airgroup if I didn't move it off but would like answer on that part myself.
