Garrisons

Hi-Scen.1, 12/9/'41. Calcutta base screen shows:
Garrison-222(in red)/225.(I assume garrison needed.)

But, there are : Inf. 2606, 2nd line troops 10047 at the base. There is no reference to "Garrison" in the index.

What is needed to get the total up to 225 or larger?

Thanks, Hugh Browne

The assault value of a unit is what they are referring to.  Many units (eg. artillery) won't help a bit.

Garrison is measured in AS - or assault strength. Chances are the units already there just need to repair some squads or accept some replacements and you will meet the garrison requirement.

How do units "repair" squads?

Do nothing in a base with adequate supply, and devices (including squads) will repair.

Being in "rest" mode, near a HQ, good leader can all affect this -- but sitting tight in a supplied base is the key.

Page 260 of the manual:
Bases that have supplies that exceed double their supply requirements may use the excess to provide replacements (as long as the ground unit has the Accept Replacements selection made on its Ground Unit Information screen).

LCUs receive replacements faster when in the rest operational mode, although I suspect that they won't contribute to garrison AV requirements when in that mode.

EDIT: Just beat me to it!
