Conversions seem like a win win to me .I can trade in my xAK for an AP Good, and the new ship has AA 47 instead of 4 better. IT is now able to carry both troops and supply but not as much supply as before it gives me a more versatile transport fleet so I think good again. What did it cost me ? is it just the 23 day wait to get it back in the war ? or am I using up something that is not easily apparent?

Just the wait and dock space.

Some conversions also require repair shipyards.

I believe they also cost devices from the device pool. I know they did in WitP. But I'm not positive on that.
