I haven't found a better infantry killer than this yet.

Mobility
Armor
And a flame that reaches 2 hexes

Try a Mobelwagen with the 2cm flakvier... Much better reach than a mere two hexes. :)

The Sherman Flame, Crocodile, and OT-34 are better, they have a main gun also.

The GE Flamethrowing HT has top speed and TWO flamethrowers. Great for busting through known minefields, too. :D

Or, the slower JA SS Eng Tank. She can FIND the minefields and dispatch them with HER two flamethrowers.

But, for barreling into a line of infantry: The OT-34 or Sherman Flame. ;)

But why overlook the KV chassis flametank? IIRC the KV-8S?

45mm gun (OK, not the best)
Flamegun
MGs
KV armour

Gotta love that mobile barbecue.

I like to have a pair of flampanzers on hand. I use them like bulldozers. Keep them back as they are vulnerable. Once you run up against something tough to kill (KVs, pillboxes, etc.) move on with your main force but leave something behind to keep shooting at the target and keep it supressed (just watch out for that SO spontanous loss of all suppression and jump to ready state) and have the flampanzers waddle up to it. Then, whoosh-whoosh and its bye-bye target. I could spend all day trying to hammer it with my 37mm or 50mm Panzers but the flame does it so quickly. I really like them.

Try the M13/M15/M16 AA halftracks with their twin or quad .50cal; I've seen them regularly wipe out entire squads (even experienced ones!)with 2 shots at ranges of 10 or so.

That's another great feature of flame tanks: the flame/smoke hexes they create block the LOS of your opponent's overwatch units

As far as flme tanks go OT-34/85. The mobile deadly T-34/85 minus one MG, plus flamethrower. 85mm gun kills everything T-34 can't outmanouver and flamethower keeps those Waffen-SS AT-teams at bay. Allways try to beef my forces with these.

I'm almost at the end of a German WWII long campaign and from what I've seen, anything mounting that nasty 15cm gun does a nice job in the direct fire role against infantry....the Grizzly Bear springs immediately to mind.

I did get a Sturmtiger once (I play with true troop/rarity ON/ON) which played hell with US infantry until a Thunderbolt took it out...heh.

A real blast indeed. My defenders of the motherland learned that lesson. My engineer platoon that decided to "stick together" got blown up real good ....then a T-34 shot a nice hole in it. Thank god my opponent decided not protect them(two, actually) with tanks. :p

Sounds like a real Excedrin headache to me! :)

Sig33's one major weakness is it's armor protection and being open topped. I always preceed them with panzers/stugs to clear the way. Either that, or have my atty pound the area before the Sig33s show up. In any case, they're fairly cheap, if I lose one.

Just so it's not a pin from one of the grenades you're carrying. :D
