Aircraft supply capacity

I did a search, can't find anything. How much supply can fit into a transport? I'd like the formula, how many capacity points equals one supply point.

Thanks

1 supply = 2k capacity . . . I think.

that´s what it always has been in WITP and I haven´t read about it being changed so I think it´s still valid.

Something like that, which makes me almost cry when I think of my Port Moresby air transport supply... I have cracking amount of 6 C-47/DC-3 planes doing it from Cairns in AE. And on good day, I might have 4 of them to fly. No wonder I have to put naval & civilian ships in harms way quite often. [:'(]

Burma is worse try suppling 1000 AV without a port its a nightmare

In that case, does the game count fractions of a supply point? I ask because some of the transport aircraft have significantly less capacity than that.

I would like to know that too.
I have 8 Chinese DC-2 flying supply so:
8*2400=19200=9,6 supply
I guess 9 come in but I don't have a clue if that is really so.

In WITP, planes below 2000 could not transport supplies (I think they even flied the mission, but never delivered anything).

In 1943 Allies get enough transport planes to throw whole Division in one day, so even Sahara will not be a problem.

Is there a list of capacities for each type of A/C transport and patrol???

I think this is in planes game database. It list payload, which is the same, as capacity. Just click plane icon in left-upper corner, and choose side.

How much supply can fit into a transport?

Keep in mind the LB have a Supply mission as well, but like somebody else said, I think that 2000 is the required minimum.

2000 lb load (level bomber or dedicated transport plane) = 1 supply point

Those 8 Chinese transport planes will only deliver 8 supply points.

Supply delivery determination is quite simple.

Supply delivered = plane load/2000

All transport planes can deliver a single supply point even if their load capacity is less than 2000. This is the only occasion when rounding up is applied.

Hence:
a transport plane with 10000 load capacity can deliver 5 supply points,
a transport plane with 6000 load capacity can deliver 3 supply points,
a transport plane with 2400 load capacity can deliver 1 supply point,
a transport plane with 540 load capacity can deliver 1 supply.

Don't forget level bombers can also be assigned the supply transport mission.

This also determines the type of equipment they can transport, isn't that correct? For example a transport able to load 6K would only be allowed to transport equipment up to 3 supply points worth, do I have this right?

Air transport of devices is different. Read page 170 of the manual for details.

Infantry squad and engineers can be flown irrespective of their load cost and the airplane's capacity. Other devices with a load cost of 10 or more can not be flown irrespective of the cargo bay size of the aircraft.

Thanks Alfred, you seem to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the rules/manual, I appreciate it. Hal

So, how many squads per Topsy or Thalli?
