Sirs,

On some map hexes there is a dimond with a green dot in it. You can have this with the other icons, anchor, air base, land units. I can't find info on this in the documentation. Also, why are some units bright green and some a darker shade of olive?

If you are talking about the little blob just to the side of the top left corner of the flag - that signifies mines.
The darker the colour the more of that unit type there - more troops, more aircraft etc.
