Modern Wars: Volume I: Bootcamps

I am in the midst of putting together some bootcamp scenarios for Modern Wars: Volume I and was thinking of instead of a series of Bootcamp scenarios, similar to that exist in the Campaign Series, how putting all the bootcamp/training in a Linked Campaign?

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

PS. If you decide to vote, do let me know why you picked what you did.

A big YES to that idea Jason!

That would be really functional. You would get to play a LCG and learn different things as you go on. For the final scenario in the LCG you could have it ALL come together where you would use every thing that was learned in previous scenarios.

That's a good idea!
Thanks

Big Ivan

I think that would be great. I realy liked the series of secenarios in RS. They followed though with a campaign, even though they were not linked.

Yes, I like the Idea of "training" Campaign rather than a bunch of bootcamp scenarios lost in the vast numbers of scenarios.

I voted no becuase it might slow down development and I would be against that! LOL [:)]

If you build it Jason, we will play it!

love the idea of leading the newcomer step by step in this next in the series Jason, btw still no response on if you can send me the modern graphics you used in your maps or a file containing them particulary the morden armor symbols for TOE's

Hi Jerry

The symbols I use, I build when I make a map.

The symbols are traditional NATO standard symbology.

Dear Jason,

I voted Yes in the poll. The Campaign should progressively introduce the game concepts to both newbies & veterans, especially for newbies. It's a good way to attract more people to the game.

I like it too. Kinda reminds of long ago learning how to play AH's Tobruk.

I voted Yes.

Why? Because I feel it involves the player on a more emotional level then a regular stand alone senario.boot camps are good for training yes...but you have bootcamps and have a linked mini campaign...where ther player can feel motivated to try different thing...then you have it all.

They would probably be necessary to help newcomers get into the game.  This is a great game and it needs greater visibility.  I love the way the game plays.  It would be great to be able to expand it to earlier eras.  Does anyone remember 'Age of Rifles'?  Certainly dated now, but a great game, with somewhat similar mechanics to the Campaign Series.  It probably wouldn't take a huge amount to change some graphics files and weapons characteristics in order to recreate it.

Erik has stated that Matrix has tried to get the rights to AoR but not able to at this time.

Voted dont care since I can play Scenarios or LCG to learn new stuff no difference to me.
But remember to take care and make it easy going so an inexperienced user gets through the LCG in one piece otherwise he/she might get frustrated early on..
