[Public Beta] upgrade bug?

I have the 13th Sentai that can upgrade to Ki-45 KAIa Nick. If I upgrade the Nates to Oscar (Ic), the upgrade to Ki-45 KAIa Nick disappear from the list (there is only the Ki-45 KAIc). If I "downgrade" the oscars to nates again, I have no upgrade to Nicks (any versions). Seems like a bug to me.
Save attached.

I've run into this when I've 'upgraded' a unit that was scheduled to be the first one operating a given aircraft. Is there a way to warn off newbies of doing this?

The list of aircraft is generated from the the aircraft that the group can upgrade to now and next plus the upgraded a/c model of that type.
If it can't find any, then it reverts back to the old method of trying to match nationality, type, next upgrade path.
By downgrading, you have probably altered the upgrade path somehow.

Hi michaelm,
thanks for the reply.
The problem is that Nick is a fighter bomber while Nate and Oscar are fighters. Only a few units of fighters can upgrade to Nicks (Ki-45 KAIa). If you lose this chance, you need to wait until 12/45 with Ki-45KAIc, while the Ki-45 KAIa is avaliable from 5/42.
By downgrading, you have probably altered the upgrade path somehow.
So, is there a way to revert to the original upgrade path (nate->Ki-45 KAIa Nick) for that unit? Otherwise, as herwin said, there should be a warning for these units (if you upgrade them to anything else than Nicks, you won't be able to upgrade to Ki-45 KAIa anymore for the rest of the game...).
Bye

AFAIK there are two kind of upgrade paths (actually 3)
a) the one defined by the factory upgrades
b) the one defined in the airgroup for that specific airgroup
c) the one given by "PDU on" allowing you to change to basically any AC of same type
If you use a) or c) you forgo the one defined by b) at least for the currently active upgrade (don't know about later ones) and I don't think you can go back. This is not new.

so, if I understand this correctly:
a) depends on aircraft model (i.e., editor, "aircraft" tab, "upgrade" field), and is the same for all groups flying that aircraft model
b) depends on the air group (i.e., editor, "air group" tab, "upgrade" field), and is specific to a single group
c) roughly means that the choice in a) is broadened to a wider list?
but b) can ONLY be accessed from the aircraft model the groups starts with
Is this correct?
In this case, I agree with invernomuto, some sort of warning message (even a simple asterisk next to the aircraft model name) would be very useful.

I once did (c) to the first airgroup intended to upgrade to the J2M. Bye-bye J2M for that game...
