A question for designers

I know there is a way to buy and then destory a fighter plane to be placed on the map..I even did it Saving Privet Ryan D-day scenario... I just cant remember how.. help please...

Here the scenario if anyone wants a peek at it.

Were you using the "special" iconds developed for WT and LV?

If so, it is A followed by Shift+1 and the numbers start at 110 (I think it is) Many aircraft icons there up through number 146.

No Redleg, I only own MCNA for now.. It was done (somehow) through the purchse and deploy menus... :(

Those icons can be downloaded (not sure where). Or, I can send them to you. Very easy to use.

After putting them in your shp file.
Then when you are in the map editor:
press "a" then shift+! and then enter the # of the icon you want.

Here is a test map with all the icons on it with numbers.:D
After loading goto slot 390 to select. Or if you have an empty slot , you can re# it.

Ter86 shapes and EXPLOSION unit

...reminder: The Ter86 shape file holds graphics only, they are NOT units that are noticed by the AI or anything else. They´re just handled like the underlying terrain (probably "mixed").
If you want to shoot up the planes you need the "explosion" unit from norway OOB. Should be included in latest V7.1 update.

Make month december and year 1949 (like for other designer stuff in czech OOB ect.) Buy a single sniper, place it in the "aircraft" hex, change unit with "R" key (nation button, norway, EXPLOSION unit), click map again to make the changed unit show, then edit the units attributes to your liking.
Note: The explosion unit has NO icon, nor any attributes and it´s up to the designer what to give it. Example: Armor, crew, weapons..ect. Your call

This unit is named explosion, cause it show up as destroyed (exploded) vehicle when shot up!

As designer you can do the weirdest thing with this unit (look "mosh´s mine dogs" for example :D ), but originally it was designed to give the "abandoned" tanks and aircrafts in the megacampaign something that it notices and can be shot up. Same goes forthe player of course...:D

Nope with overwrting pops!

The newer Ter86 files are expanded with the new graphics, nothing has been replaced! All existing scenarios work as usual.

The zip file for the map has only 1 file ?? I cant get it to load..

Yep it is the .dat file that goes in the map file as is or rename to an empty slot number. Then go in and select through map editor and save to give it a name of your chosing.

That did it ! Thanks Don! I will give you a break on the scenario battle you and I have comming;) I might even let you sit in the drivers seat of my bada$$ M4A3 :rolleyes:

Hi Jess:

Yes, we can add planes on a map much like we do a building. Wild Bill had Mike and others design some planes for us to place on airfields or show as being shot down. We used a lot of them in MCWT. I think I still have the downloads and will try and find them along with WB's instructions on installing them. If I can't find them, I will check with Steve and see if he has them.

I will let you know next week.

....ok I'm confused.....I put the dat file in my maps folder and nothing shows up in the editor....I go to what is map slot 390 (they're not numbered but I'm pretty sure I have the right one) and there is no map there...

..second problem is that I already have something in my shp folder with the same names-numbers as the new ones.....what to do..?..any help would be appreciated , thanks...
