I use wargame icons during land battles, but it seems I must also use them during naval battles for some reason. I have not been able to find a hotkey to switch them. Please tell me there is a hotkey to switch to normal ship graphics, otherwise this is one super-lame oversight.

I forget, but isn't there a hotkey for the unit graphics in the first place? Couldn't you just press it again?

It does not seem so. I know CoG did, and that was either like the dash or plus key.

If you click on the Menu tab, there should be a "toggle Icons" selection tjhere.

It is absent from detailed naval battles.
