Thanks!

Could you be a little more explicit? Is there a fix in the next patch or something? I know other posters said they encountered similar problems at certain other bases - will the fix apply universally or do we need to identify all the affected bases?

In patch 1 there will be code to prevent bases from being improperly reset to primary AFs but does not correct bases that have already been improperly reset. It has to do with bases that have no port and no port potential and having an af or af potential so it assumes it be a primary AF type base and those bases are not allowed to build ports.

I have had a group of I believe 24 engineers on Canton Island trying to expand the airfield for probably two weeks of gametime now, and it's still at zero per cent. The airfield is currently 2 (0). They have supplies. Bug, or should I expect it to take me about four years to expand this airfield with the engineers there?

Well, I'm not certain about the answer, but:

Isn't Canton airfield a (0) potential size? Which means a max of 3, and going from 2 to 3 will take a long time/a lot of effort.

It is a (0) potential size, so it's one step away from its maximum. I would have expected at least a one per cent increase so far for my efforts though.
 
I can't check right now, but I'm sure the engineers are in combat mode. I'm sure all of my engineers everywhere are in combat mode, and it seems to be okay for the rest of them.
 
Maybe it's just really, really, REALLY hard to take a (0) potential airfield from size 2 to size 3... in which case I'll just stop what I'm doing, and be sure to send Uncle Sam a thank-you for making it as big as it already is.
 
I'll switch from trying to expand the airfield, to trying to build a port. I believe it's a size 0 now, with the potential for size 2. If this doesn't work, I'll let you know....

Only half your eng value actually builds so 12 is not very much and going 2(0) to 3(0) is going to take a lot of eng value.
