Since I've been stuck on call for Labor Day I decided to do a little research. Here are some handy WITP stats for various French and German guns.

gun;type;range;accuracy;penetration;effect;AntiArmor;AntiSoft;relevant classes

French
380mm/45 mle35; naval gun; 41; 20; 725; 1949; 725; 194; Richelieu
340mm/45 mle12; naval gun; 27; 12; 675; 1268; 675; 102; Bretagne
330mm/50 mle31; naval gun; 41; 20; 700; 1235; 700; 115; Dunkerque
305mm/45 mle10; naval gun; 26; 18; 450; 952; 450; 95; Courbet
203mm/55 mle30; naval gun; 31; 35; 275; 295; 275; 29; Algerie
203mm/50 mle24; naval gun; 31; 35; 250; 295; 260; 29; Suffren, Duquesne, Surcouf
138.6mm/45 mle28/34; naval gun; 20; 70; 125; 90; 9; Mogador, Le Fantasque
138.6mm/40 mle23; naval gun; 19; 50; 110; 90; 9; Guepard
138.6mm/40 mle27; naval gun; 16; 70; 110; 90; 9; Pluton, Aigle, Cassard, Le Malin
138.6mm/55 mle10; naval gun; 17; 50; 130; 87; 7; secondary guns on Bretagne and Courbet, also coastal defense
130mm/45 mle32&35; DP; 20; 40*; 110; 74; 7; Le Hardi, Joffre, secondary guns on the Dunkerque
130mm/40 mle24; naval gun; 19; 60; 100; 77; 7; L'Adroit
130mm/40 mle19; naval gun; 19; 50; 100; 77; 7; Tigre

*40 accuracy might seem a low for a 130mm gun developed in the 30s, but it was a faulty design that was prone to jamming

German
40.6/52; naval gun; 37; 20; 805; 2271; 805; 227; planned for use on 'H' Class battleships, used as coastal guns
38cm/52; naval gun; 39; 20; 742; 1764; 742; 176; Bismarck
38cm/52; coastal gun; 45; 20; ?; 1091; ?; 109; the coastal emplacement statistics for this gun were so different I decided to list them separate
30.5cm/56; naval gun; 39; 30; 500; 915; 500; 91; experimental: would have been used on new 'pocket battleships' and coastal defense.
28cm/54.5; naval gun; 40; 30; 604; 728; 604; 70; Scharnhorst, Netherlands were also planning on using similar guns for their Design 1047 BCs
28cm/52; naval gun; 39; 25; 450; 660; 450; 66; pocket battleships
20.3cm/55; naval gun; 36; 40; 275; 269; 275; 27; Admiral Hipper, Prinz Eugene

note:
Accuracy based on similar guns already in the database, modified by age, availible fire control systems, and rate of fire
Penetration sometimes had to be estimated by comparing the size and velocity of similar guns

(I'll do the German DD guns later . . . You know, this is fun.)

If you want more fun [;)] use facehard application to get round penetration capabilities from here http://www.navweaps.com/index_nathan/index_nathan.htm

Using it for 380mm/45 got me 748mm, 130mm/40 got 120mm and 138mm/40 got 122mm. I don't remember why last ones ended so close.

Ironically, that was the main site I used as a source and I even knew that program existed but I had no idea the program was on the same site I was using. Weird, huh?

Anyway, thanks, I've been looking for that.

I'd add the following to the list, as they were commonly used on German vessels:

10.5 cm/65 SK C/33
8.8 cm/45 (3.46") SK C/35
8.8 cm/45 (3.46") SK C/30
7.5 cm/36 SK C/34
4 cm/56 Flak 28 (German 40mm Bofors in use after 1943)
3.7 cm/83 SK C/30
3.7 cm/69 M42
3.7 cm/57 M43
2 cm/70 Flak 28 and 29
2 cm/65 C/30
2 cm/65 C/38

The stats on all of these can be found at: http://www.navweaps.com

There didn't seem like a lot of interest in the project, so I stopped - I didn't want to clutter the boards unneccessarily. I may go back and do some more tonight.

The fall off in effect for the 28cm from the 54.5cal to the 52cal is pretty dramatic. Off hand, any particular reason?
