Squadrons Can't be used

The game is in early 1944 and several arriving squadrons can't be used. The most recent are P47d's arriving in Aden. I can "upgrade" them to p39s, but after I set the squadron to "do not upgrade" they revert back to P47d. I have this problem with PB4Ys on the West Coast.

Hey Khyber
Could it have anything to do with control (lower left screen) set to 'Computer SW'. Try setting it back to 'Human' control and see if that helps?

I will check that and see if that makes a difference. I inherited this game from another and didnt notice that computer had control. Thanks

That was the problem, the previous player had set SW to computer control I never caught on because the first planes to show up where in the US and were cargo planes.
