2 Outs Before the First Pitch

Shaun,

Last whine of the day.

Before the game has started, before the first pitch, the scoreboard READS "2 Out, runner on first". Once the game actually begins, that goes to 'normal', displaying whatever the count is supposed to be. It has no impact on game play, but it's just one of those little things...

See screenprint:

Next time look what the bottom of the PbP box says at the start of a new inning. It has the same issue.

Catching up on some reading here.......

I can't tell how many outs there are, but it sure looks like a runner IS on first. : )

Also, Smoltz with the Marlins? Ugggggh

Do not mock the Smoltz. I got him on an even 1-for-1 trade for 1B Gaby Sanchez and he has actually worked out VERY well for us. Observe:

He's hitting well, too! (for a pitcher)
