Initial impressions and a quick question

Have now had chance to play half a dozen or so scenarios and campaign scenarios and generally having a lot of fun with it. As has been said previously it is a nice simple beer & pretzels style game with a nice bit of WW2 flavour to it. Very easy to get into even if you have never played a PG game before (nearest I've played to PG myself is Commander Europe at War) and the sort of game where if you only want to play for 30 mins or so you can still play through a scenario or dip in and out of a campaign. Also I'm finding each new campaign scenario a bit more of a challenge and with a bit more depth than its predecessor which is a good trend.

A few questions that have come up

1. What do the roundels to the right of the unit strength mean ?

2. Just played the third scenario of the German Barbarossa campaign and found that my Romanian cavalry (as in the four legged variety) couldn't move because it had run out of fuel. Why do I need petrol to get my horses to move ?

Also

In the Dubno-Brody 1941 scenario you cant see the most southerly hex row when at max zoom.

I've been getting some graphical oddities when playing the 3rd Barbarossa scenario such as phantom units (ie the unit is there, its strength is displayed in the hex but the unit graphic itself has disapeared. Also I've had a unit graphic tilted 90 dergees leaving this unit of assault infantry now lying on its back. (would have posted the screenshot but it saved as a png and don't seem to be able to upload this format to the post)

Roundels indicate movement status, same thing as in the PG series.

Horses still need supply, because realistically they used up far more maintenance and resource than gas propelled vehicles.

As for the graphical glitches, this has come up quite a bit during the beta, and as I understand it, the problem has to do with the Ogre engine, and not the game-code.

Quick question about the Barbarossa campaign. Does it end with 'Moscow'? So if the Germans fail to take Moscow the whole campaign is over, unlike PG where you continue to defend against the Russians till 1945?

yes, the campaign ends at Moscow where Operation Barbarossa ended, too.
