i' made a simple test (china have few pilot at start)..so when i put a new pilot in squadrons:
1)from reserve if any (at start none, and is modified at start of next turn)

2)from pilot in pool if you have any (experience slighty random but around experience number ie china exp 25 from 19 to 31 in overall and primary skill: air fro fighter groundB for bomber)

3)from nowhere if you have none in pool (so it seem that those in training are not touched i don't know if is intended or bug) but expirience around half ie from 8 to 18 for china (there is no change from training process number)

exception (again don't know if intended) in the FIRST and only FIRST turn if you finish pilot in pool the pilot caming for nowhere at exp around that of pilot yet in play: so for china 35-40

so if you want additional top pilot for KB...[;)]

i've a save but the test with china take two minut..

The first turn has several cases of special handling.
Pilots are assumed to already be available in groups and don't need to be draw from the replacement pools.
In case where the pilots run put, there is special code to handle this. Not sure what criteria is but will look at it.

for the first turn: the strange is that if you have pilot in pool they came with national experience and the number is lowered accordingly: when you finish the pool they are much better coming for nowhere (test in GC scen 1) i fuond sense if they came from nowhere always(the first turn) or from the pool always... now..is MAD

for others turn: i have the save i use (mid april 42) ask if nedeed: check china with 30 pilots in pool is fast
