There are various 'recon' aircraft that are classified as fighters and fighter-bombers in AE. They have both guns and cameras. As they are F's and FB's, there is no recon mission type available.

I have tried running sweeps overs targets with these a/c but they do not 'take any pictures'/gather intel. TimTom thinks this sounds like a bug.

OR - should I use a different mission type?

OR - should all of these a/c be classified as Recon? (In which case they could not fly CAP or escort!)

If they have ELINT devices, then the Recon mission should be available regardless if they are F/FBs (IIRC).

Can you give me an example of which group/plane to make it easier on me?[&o]

[edit] Yep, code turns on RECON if an ELINT device is on the plane.

I'll pull it up to look at some. One fighter group that appears early on has already been upgraded, but I'll find others for you.

OK, Earlier in the game I had a squadron with the F4F-3P (fighter). Had the ELINT Camera, but no Recon mission. Currently I have three squadrons with the British Hurricane FR IIb (fighter-bomber). They have the ELINT Camera, but no Recon mission.

Here is a save game. Look in Diamond harbor for the British FB's.

The Camera effect rating is 0.
It should be non-zero to have any affect. Have you applied the database updates to the save?
