So there's to be a Pacific variant of ToW?

Yes.

It'll need a new naval warfare system then...
The abstract naval warfare works well in ToW as it is a minor adjunct to the European war, but a more complete system will be required for the Pacific, but not as complete as War in the Pacific!

Indeed it needs some improvements and such are under process of development.

But it won't be a pacific campaign, will it? According to the Iwo Jima map it seems more like a game with more detailed scale and a number of loose scenarios?

I agree, do we have a ETA time on when this game will come out?

You`ve found it on Twitter, havn`t you?

...but dig deeper into it... and you will find the map and the answer!

The most accurate answer I can give you at the moment is “In a few months”.

Oh, yes, you mean this:
Pacific
Remember now I saw it some days back, but I was in the middle of something else (modding) and never paid any attention. So it
is the entire campaign? In that case - seen in the light of your statement that the game is some months away - one can only presume that the naval system has been overhauled. Or maybe this is an entire new system. [:'(]
And here we go ranting about the naval aspects of the game, and all the time you have already made a new?? [:-]

Yes, I meant this map (the screen is taken from a tool which extended version and with a new event editor will be attached to the game).
Well it is natural thing that a developer makes new games all the time, isn't it? Otherwise after a very short period of time it will have to switch to other activities outside gamedev, what surely would disallow to support previous games. ATM the game is under development, which means it will be ready so you may presume the naval system will also be overhauled.
We do support our games, we will do support them. The following patch, the one which includes around 150 tweaks, fixes and new features, it is a best possible attestation of my words.

No one can refute the fact that you guys are splendid when it comes to consumer support and product updates. That ToW lives on, not only on my hard disc, but also in future development, is very welcome news. Hopefully, some new features in the Pacific game can also be brought back to the European version.
If ToW got a good naval system, a slightly more developed political system and maybe a more dynamic interaction between resources, production and economy, it would be so perfect that - like a chessboard and it's pieces - it would never really need changing. When it comes to the second and third wish, they would be desirable, but not vital. The first is a must and I'm thrilled to learn what you have come up with for Pacific.
I'm currently playing the game against the AI (yes, you heard right) and I can only say that the game has turned much more interesting since the introduction of the 1.50. Thanks for the fighters and the better air interface. Its now a game in itself.

And regarding content - yes there will be some campings and smaller scenarios.

excellent news about this development and as uxbridge says, if the best of both can be shared maybe at some point a global campaign (a bit like Advanced tactics) would then be possible. Panzers in Sydney anybody?

This is splendid news! Very glad to see you guys taking this design further, I like dedication. It will be interesting to see how the approach to naval-air unfolds, especially CV interaction and the role of the "unsinkable aircraft carriers". Logistical interdiction by subs will also be another feature that I will have my eye on.
Hopefully we won't see seazones.
Accolades to the Wasteland group.

Great!
When is the file going to go to gamersgate, since I am guessing I won't be able to download it from Matrix since they won't validate my GG serial code?
