Patch 1 - Bug Redux - TF Makes Own Orders
Posted: Sat Sep 26, 2009 2:26 pm
This is a bug that was 'fixed' previously, and in fact the previous fix did eliminate the vast majority of the instances where this happens. Basically a TF has a home port and destination port (both the same) assigned. When it get to home/destination, it assigns itself new orders to go back to a port it previously visited.
In this case I created 3 replenishment TF's at Pearl Harbor. I gave them home port of Noumea, destination of Pago Pago, retirement allowed. They went to Pago Pago, then proceeded to Noumea. However, when they arrived at Noumea they assigned themselves a new destination of Pago Pago and started the journey back there!
The save with this post is the Before save game and shows this happening with 2 of the TF's..
See TF78 and TF86 near Noumea. They are headed for Noumea (destination and home port). Run the turn and they will be back at sea headed for Pago Pago (=destination, home port still =Noumea).
Next post has the after save.
BTW - same thing happened with the 3rd replenishment TF several turns later. Let me know if you wants those saves before the autosave routine overwrites them.
