I've tried running BTR in window mode and it aint happening.

The command line on the shortcut is
"D:\games\Gary Grigsby's Eagle Day to the Bombing of the Reich\BTR.exe" -w

and I have it set to Normal Window. The Matrix video appears and the splash screen, but then I get a dialog saying "ERROR Couldn't init font"...the game goes no further.

I was trying to run it in window mode as per Eriks suggestion to see if it gets rid of the graphical glitches when DirectDraw is switched off.

I'm having the same problem except that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  I just had the whole game lock up and had to use task manager to stop it after 30 minutes + of no activity visible on screen.  (Taskmanager said it was using between 33-50 percent of the cpu during that time).  Now that I am trying to restart it it keeps giving me the init font error.

Actually, if you turn DirectDraw back on, Window mode works fine....except that awful lag is back for Target Highlights
