Interface Wishlist

I attach a screencap of the User Interface from V1.5. I expect that many gamers here have plenty of screen real estate, like mine.

I would like the ability to undock the information panels from the game screen and move them to a location of my choice, resize them as I see fit and maybe close one or more of them as I play. This would increase the onscreen map area considerably.
I had noticed in another thread that the wishlist for V1.7 has already closed, so I expect that, if this is possible, it won't happen before V1.8 (or in the Pacific Game)

Second Request:
I would like the game date and turn number to continue to be displayed during the AI player's execution phase(s) so that, if I want to take a screencap, it will already be correctly (game)date-stamped.

This one is hard to implement in ToW, the only way is to change position and size of those elements in GUI_<resolution width>x<resolution height>.csv file... and of course graphics in GUI.png if you want :) GUI in SOP is going to be more "dynamic" during game.

We will see, maybe we can do something about it.

I've had a go at modifying the gui, it's do-able, but until the patches have run their course, and the graphics have settled down, it's not worth the time or effort.

Quite agree about the timing, Agent S. Waiting is.

Now, were the undocked windows fully sizeable and moveable as with normal Win sub-windows or did you have to make a hard definition of window size and location? That WOULD be acceptable, but not exactly what I'd hoped for.
Aside:
(Gee, I envy you blokes who have the skills to just charge in and modify the game mechanics - to me it's like you're wizards casting spells![X(] A few twiddles of the digits and Hey Presto Changeo! a whole new environment)

No, I'm a pixel pusher not a programmer.
My gui mod was limited to resizing text and buttons to increase map real estate.
I leave the serious .csv tweaking/ tinkering to guys like Uxbridge.
- but thanks for the kind words, it's more a case of patience and perseverance, rather than wizardry.
