Hi everyone,
The v1.12 Public Beta update for Operation Barbarossa is now available in our Members Club. We're putting this into Public Beta until next week, when we plan to release it official barring any serious issues being found in the meantime. This update resolves many of the most pressing issues from the release version, based on customer feedback to date.
How to download the Public Beta update:
Register your copy of Operation Barbarossa in our Members Club here:
http://www.matrixgames.com/community/login.asp
Then go to My Games and Private Downloads for OB and you should find the v1.12 Public Beta. Download it and double-click to run the update installer.
Here's the change list:
Changes from V 1.11 to 1.12
- The issue with mouse double clicks has been fixed.
- Air transports are not visible anymore in the game panel when they are in the fog of war.
- Retreat: Now all unit types can retreat if they are under artillery fire.
- Retreat: Henceforward just self-propelled antitank/antiair/artillery units can retreat.
- Unit Info: Button "Cancel" has changed to "Reset" to make it more clear that it is not for closing the window. It´s just for resetting the strength/ammo/fuel values if the player has changed his mind.
- The closing button for the windows has been reworked for better visibility.
- Scrollboxes (like scenario description or debriefing): Now it always starts at the beginning of the text.
- A small bug relating to the Benelux nation has been fixed.
- End Turn: A confirmation dialog for ending the turn has been included. This can be toggled in "Options/Game".
- PBEM: Now it´s possible to choose a name for the game by the 1st player
- The German flag for the ownership has been changed to make it more distinguishable from the Russian one.
- The Romanian Army has been expanded by 8 German units.
- Several misspellings in the scenario textes have been corrected.
- In some scenarios the specific unit names have been changed. Before they had just the general name like "Panzer III".
- BM 8-24: Infantry defense +2
Retreat Changes:
4.7.2 Special cases
Retreat
Attacked ground units retreat to an bordering free field (without adjoining enemy units) if they have suffered losses of at least 50% of its current strength points. Any entrenchment levels of that unit are lost then.
Exceptions: Cannons do not retreat, but self-propelled ones do. Attacks lead by aircrafts never cause a retreat.
