IS the "follow TF" supposed to work this way?

The Saratoga TF is returning to Pearl and does not have neough fuel to make it. I create a replenishment TF at Pearl, and tell it to follow the Saratoga TF. The result? Neither TF moves! The Saratoga sits and burns fuel waiting for the replenishment TF. The replenishment TF, full of fuel, sits in Pearl and does nothing, never leaves port. What am I doing wrong?

I would guess you have the Saratoga TF destination as Pearl?

Then the replenishment TF would be waiting for the CV TF to arrive, I'm thinking?

Isn't there a "Meet TF" option? That might work better. Or just do as I do sometimes, manually make sure they meet in a certain hex.

Known problem. The replen TF is planning to meet the CVTF at Pearl. Send it forth to an intermediate destination, and from there meet the CVTF.

I have the replenishment TF following Saratoga. IT will not leave Pearl, and PEral will not move unitl it meets the replenishment TF. What should happen , I think, is the the Saratoga should continue as best she could and the replenishment TF should leave port and intercept the Saratov. What it is doing is worse that useless. It freezes both task forces making the fuel situation worse.

It is broken! Will someone plese acknowledge this is borked and needs to be fixed

John, the devs will probably not respond to such a message.
If someone describes as clear and as concise as possible what is suspected to not work as designed and the devs agree that there is a problem most certainly a response will be given (that is my repeated experience).

However, if you think that something doesn't work as intended and the devs have a different view there's a chance you won't get a response. Mostly because of time contraints.

I think I asked this corectly. I have a TF that will not move until the other TF follows it. The following taks force has filled with fuel and will not leave port. This seems to be a bug, but perhaps I am doing something wrong. therefore , I have included a save with the undesiarable situation. So,:

Is it working as designed?
Do I not understand some rule?
did I configure something worng?
Is this a bug?

Would someone plese help?

Is there anything else I should be doing to get my sutuation resolved?

Frm the responses above it looks like a know issue

thanks all

John, I have not seen your particular problem, but it seems that setting the replenishment TF to "meet" the CVTF instead of "follow" should get the job done.  I always picture "follow" to be appropriate for TF's that are already near each other.  Have you tried "meet" yet?

will try next time thanks. I just disbanded the replenishment TF and let Sara limp in with a bit of engine damage

If the TF you have set to follow is in the destination port, then it will wait there for the TF it is set to follow. I dont know if there is any intention of changing this, but I doubt it because there is now the MEET function which does usually work. To make the follow TF function work, then you would have reset the Saratoga TF to just stay in place or move one hex towards PH. The replacement TF will now move to it. Been there and done that!
