I just noticed that all units of KGr 100 are listed with an Asterisk (*). They appear in Luftflotte 3 (IV Fliegerkoprs) as well as in the Nachtkampfgruppe. When you look at the unit details, it has a device called "Knickebein".
How does this work in Eagle Day and what is so special about that unit?

you will also see that got a different load out and are only Staffel size units

they are the path finders, they follow a beam to the target, when they cross a 2nd beam, they drop there markers so the following bombers know where to bomb

Pathfinders. Knickebein was a nav. tool for them.

So their Pathfinder abilities are better than let's say normal Stab units?
And I can use them night & day as they appear to be available in 2 units (IV Fliegerkorps & Nachtkampfgruppe), right?
So how much do they improve the spotting of targets compared to Stab units?
Or do they just improve the hit rate of the target once they have spotted it?

they can fly during the day or at night, as can any of the Med bombers

hassle is, they belong to one command, based at another command, to lead planes from other commands

so that is why they show up under two commands, one is there parent, the other is the base they are on

the nav system they have, and there Exp, gives them a better chance of hitting the target

that don't mean they will, but they should be better
