Loading Question (Cuttlefish stay out)

I never thought I would have a loading question....but I do.

I airlifted the 224 RAF HQ out of Singapore to Palembang, and moved if via rail to Oosthaven. I switched it's HQ to SOUTHEAST ASIA. I would like to load it on APs there, but there is no option to Load troops in the TF. What gives?

I tried loading it in Strat mode to a transport TF, then switched it to combat/amphib. I disbanded and reformed the TF. Am I missing something? Is SE Asia a restricted command? I can't figure out what's missing.[&:]

SEAC is not Restricted....
What worries me is the no 'Load Troop' option - is it greyed out or not there at all?
Are you using xAP or AP?
Are they docked?
How many Op Pts used?
Did they refuel this turn?

the 224 RAF HQ is not restricted from start so you can transport even without change HQ

so apparently the trouble is in TF. can you post a screen?

I didn't change the HQ for 224 AF HQ and had no trouble getting her to load and depart Sumatra.  I used single AP TFs and set 224 to "strategic transport."

Perhaps you can change the HQ back to the original and try again?  Just withdraw a few of the useless aircraft that are scheduled for withdrawal in February (there should be several B-26 or Bolo squadrons on the West Coast and some Fulmars in India).  That'll pay for the transfer.

Q-ball,

Did the strategic movement timer "reset" when you switched them over to try the amphibious loading? I didn't see how many days they were preparing for strategic movement from the screen shot you displayed.

i don't think that the trouble is in the unit command: is the load unit screen that don't open: it seem the sistem don't recognize the presence of the unit in the hex:
if you try to load a unit from a hex where are all restricted, the screen open but no unit is displayed
if the op mode it's wrong the screen open, the unit is displayed but greyed.
and if is preparing to strategic mode the load can start even now but is completed only when the days are passed
in every case if you want do experiment i suggest to reload the turn you received from opponent and working here, so you don't lose nothing

It's a long shot but could one of the ships in question be assigned to a restricted HQ/command?

Try hitting the "Change HQ for all ships in TF" button. IIRC, there is no PP cost for changing the HQ for ships.
