I'm sure this one has been picked up, but just in case:
Allied Ships
SS Porpoise
Porpoise bottoming out .......
DD Shiokaze attacking submerged sub .......
DD Shiokaze cannot reach attack position SS Porpoise over...
DD Shiokaze cannot establish contact with SS Porpoise...
DD Suzukaze fails to find sub, continues to search......
DD Umikaze attacking submerged sub .......
DD Umikaze cannot reach attack position SS Porpoise over...

Maybe it's a radio transmission: "We can't reach attack position, SS Porpoise, over..."
Or maybe it's serving some higher porpoise...
