here's a few varied questions

1.If a recon plane is shot down after photos taken, are the results still updated at HQ? Even if it doesn't make it back to land?

2. I set up a ED fighter sweep and had a 109 (cant remember the class) unit set up as lead unit , but this 109 must have been a fighter/bomber because it was changed on list from FS to bombing mission? In the after action reports it was back listed as an FS.

3. In btr during the Night scn , is there any updating of target photos, are does it matter at all?

4. And , is there anyway to slow scrolling speed or sensestivity when mouse reached edge of map frame.

5. Also, what happened to the button that would open themap screen (during mission resolving) to "giant" size (ala in old BTR)

thanks again for a great game!

to be honest, I don't know, Harley would have to speak up

2. I set up a ED fighter sweep and had a 109 (cant remember the class) unit set up as lead unit , but this 109 must have been a fighter/bomber because it was changed on list from FS to bombing mission? In the after action reports it was back listed as an FS.

yea, FB on a sweep will be shown as a bombing mission, the way it works as of now

3. In btr during the Night scn , is there any updating of target photos, are does it matter at all?

if your hitting Area targets, the Bombers get intel on the bombers, point targets, most times it is too dark

4. And , is there anyway to slow scrolling speed or sensestivity when mouse reached edge of map frame.

not now, but when the patch comes out there will be, you will be able to set a scroll speed on the option page

5. Also, what happened to the button that would open themap screen (during mission resolving) to "giant" size (ala in old BTR)

why ?

thanks again for a great game!

I would suspect it was like in reality... If a recon plane is shot down... No pictures

Yes, Recon is updated after a successful landing.

You also get 1 day old if the sitte was bombed. My tested observatoin is in agreement with what Harley said. If the recon gets shot down, its target doesn't get updated.

Since we're talking about reconnaissance. Does altitude affect results here? I use to let my JU 86P-2 fly at 42k feet, so they can't get hit. And is recon from bombing raids credible, or do I still need to subsequently launch a recon mission, in order to get exact damage reports?

you get less detail info from high levels, more of if target is damaged or not

the lower you are, the better the intel can be, info on guns and or what not (depends on the target)

(real life, one of the missions to the oil/fuel targets (thinking Luna), one of the better pilots got hit, and he knew he wasn't going to make it back, just started to broadcast, any and all info he could see as he started to lose Alt, the one line that sticks out, is tell them only one smoke stack is smoking, only one stack is smoking, we hit them HARD, then he signed off and went to a POW camp)

now remember, they had to fly that mission, day after day, to know if the repairs had gotten to the point that the German's were able to get another smoke stack online

and thanks to Harley, Recon can lie, the more Recon, the better the chance for good intel

Yes these have been my experiences as well. I do have a question about one thing though. When you bomb a target you get a "Last Recon 1 Day Ago". Is the level of intel the same for this recon as it is if you sent a recon mission to that target?

Not knowing how the game is programmed but I have observed that if I have recon on a target that is very recent my results of bombing for the most part, excluding weather or crew ignorance, I get better results. If I dont have recon the rate at which the target is not found is much higher and the damage estimated from a mission is much lower.

LOL, of course IMHO the damage estimates I get are all smoke and mirrors anyway and I believe little of what is estimated. The true measure of my success is I know I am pounding the dog crud out of em when I see fewer and fewer of the Buggers coming up to greet me. [:D]

For real warfare it's logical. Just wanted to make sure, recon altitude matters in this game as well before I jeopardize my few precious JU 86-P. Thank you, HS, will follow your new AAR, in order to optimize my playstyle.
