I have just purchased the Admiral Edition having been a long time owner of the Pacific War game although it currently is not installed on my computer.

The download and installation went OK.

When I click the shortcut I get the screen with the 2 pictures + message that it is loading. The red progress bar moves gradually towards completion. It seems to get to about 85% and then screen goes black with mouse cursor displayed in centre. Now nothing seems to happen. there is faint flicker of the disk drive activity indicator. When I go Ctrl alt del the Pacific war admiral edition is listed as not responding.

DXdiag lists my directx as 9.0c.

Not sure what I should be doing

Some machines have difficulty showing the opening video.  If you go into the install folder and rename the Video subfolder to something like NoVideo, everything might work OK.  It's worked for others who have had that problem.
