Not in a stratetic mode

Hi,

I try to load a ground unit (114 USN Base Force) at Luganville in the Guadalcanal campaign using AKs as transports. Although I changed the troup's attachment to "South Pacific" (the same HQ as for my Guadalcanal troops), it is not possible to load them since they are "Not in a stratetic mode". What does this mean and how can I nevertheless load these troops? Thanks for your help.

The troops must be in combat mode instead of  strategic mode you have to use a amphibious task force unless you change operating mode.

If you're loading them in a transport TF make sure there are naval support at the destination and also take note of the port size and size of transports you're loading them onto. If using transport and the tonnage is too large for the port destination unloading will take forever and a day.

Everything is clear - I changed the troops to "Strategic Move" and now it is possible to load them. However, the procedure will need two full days. Thanks a lot for your quick reply.

I would change them to Combat mode and then load them onto an AMPHIBIOUS task force. They will unload faster and ready to fight.

Thanks for your hint - I will load the base force onto an amphibious task force. Cheers.
