Axis pilots skills

Seems to me that the most precious Axis item is its pilots.
So dont put them in easy to shoot down coffins.
What I really hate is the tendency for weather to kill off your best pilots.
They die in bad landings.
also it takes 84 german engine factories to get 21 Jets into production???
Man that smarts!!
May as well use the flying wing design. At least it has a better endurance.
