Darn Jess, you are a fast designer aren't you?
I'm currently testing Red River for REMF ( loving it, though my losses have been heavy....the river should have stopped flowing from the log-jam created by my dead by now

)
If you want me to test it out I'd been happy to do so. Probably won't get to it until tomorrow at the earliest.... as I want to finish Red River and then test it once or twice again between tonight and tomorrow afternoon.
I'll send you my email address.

Warrior is as bad (good) with AT guns as Wild Bill is with mines!
I have an un-posted AI on his last one.. and he was a little pissed about NA..... well.. I wish you luck! Steve is a master designer and I feel sorry for all who challange his AI!

You noticed that too huh Jess. I think each designer has their own favorite toy that they like to utilize very well.

Hellcat,
Well, I had them creep up slowly to the local vicotry hexes while I worked on enlarging my bridgeheads....just in case there were pockets of re-inforcements located further back. This way any units there might be drawn up to the river edge as I took those victory hexes.
Instead they found nasty nests of 37mm AA, which I know can only mean one thing....nearby armor. So far they have taken out three 37 mm guns and located one Tiger...while losing three and a half units in the process. (The Tiger got it from IL-2 that I sent in.)
Anyway...that's been their progress so far (turn 7 - 8). I'm going to fire it up and finish it this morning then play it again this evening.
What I can say is this....extremely tough scenario! 70% of my losses have been to arty...the other 30 to all those **** ambushes!
I knew it was going to be tough just looking at the map. The woods by the river lead to open ground and hills....a perfect killing zone! Can't wait to see how many T-34's get smacked when I have to send them across....the infantry took a beating just establishing the bridgeheads and won't be a much use anymore as a screen/advance force to clear the way for the armor.
How about you?

Lol my partisans found much the same thing, molotovs were good at dealing with the 37mms but they ran into some spec ops and had no chance against those. Enemy arty has been really crippling and progress from the bridgeheads is exceptionally slow. I even managed to waste some of my own units... Big tanks firing at enemy positions in adjacent hexes has an effect on the poor infantry in the same hex as my tank
The terrain on the far side of the riverbank is pretty lethal and hampers the advance. I'm breaking out now (turn 13 / 14) but am reckoning on a marginal only...
