Hi all ive had this PBEM going on we are into turn 9 now so i thought i would start posting some pics of the action.
My opponent sully decided to take the pre war builds so i got the Soviet units 8 in all then he invaded Poland while my Soviets invaded Finnland.
Here are the opening moves in Poland

Second turn of the invasion of Poland and Warsaw is under threat

Warsaw falls on the 3rd turn of the invasion

The Red Army assaults Finnland hoping for an easy victory

Red Army units push on despite fierce Finnish resistance Red Airforce destroy bridges to cut Finnish supply

Here is the situation in the North

Red Army close the noose on Helsinki,Unfortunatly for me Sweeden has joined the Finns this Scandanavian insult wont be forgoten

Allies T10 Red Army units force there way past the Finnish Army in Northern Finnland

The situation in Southern Finnland see's Red Army closing in on Helsinki from all sides,ive got a feeling ther will be some heavy fighting in the near future

Red Army edge closer to Helsinki,problems with units in reorg and low MPs are hindering offensive operations

Allies T15 Red Army goes into reorg so offensive operations hampered again

Turn 17 Red Army continue to push on despite losses breakthroughs are made and to the west of Helsinki 3rd Shock corps and the 22nd Army try to outflank the sweedish defenses

British Government vows to send an expeditionary force to France

Due to Axis taking TO attack low countries Allies get 70% shock not good as Red Army not capable of offensive operations this turn,Helsinki will have to wait a turn or two,Its T18 now the Sitz is due to start on T22 or soon after so Red Army will only get 2 or 3 turns to have a go at Helsinki before the winter sets in.

Turn 19 Brussels Antwerp and Amsterdam fall the Germans in one turn the Dutch and Belgian armies are no match for Panzers and Feldgrau,Turn 20 will see the 70% shock for the Allies disappear as French 1st Army Group take up forward positions in Belgium.

In Finnland the Red Army has a breather before the drive on Helsinki continues

The front line in Belgium has stabilized.French 1st Army Group along with elements from the French 2nd and 3rd Army Groups are digging in, a small British Expeditionary Force has also arrived.
The Red Army resumes operations in Finnland now that the 70% Shock has ended no gaines are made those two turns of Allied shock has enabled the Scandenavians to recover lost stregnth and withstand all attacks.

Allies Turn 24 In the west the Germans push back the Allied salients in Belgium French 1st and 2nd Mot Corps are forced to retreat

Red Army hammers away at the defenses of Helsinki some gain's have being made but at a cost,winter will cease all operations soon
