while I wait...

I was thinking of trying MOO3 again while I wait for Armada.
I tried some of the mods, but had trouble with my Vista laptop running them.
Tom, or anyone else, what version of MOO3 are you running?
After the initial disappointment of the release of the game maybe it is worth another look.
Thanks,
Bill

I'm running my own "no ground troops" mod using Bhruic's Auto-Conquer patch. This vastly increases pacing. Bhruic cracked the MOO3 source code after I told him that the Mac version had the documentation embedded, and his patches resolved almost all the code problems. I strongly recommend the
Atari MOO3 forums as those have links to lots of mods, most of them far more sweeping than mine.

I haven't played it in awhile but Bhruic's mods were essential the last time I did.

I've heard reference to a couple of mods (apparently called "Chocolate" and Strawberry") that supposedly improve the original gameplay significantly. Has anyone tried either of them, and if so, what was your opinion/thoughts?

I've not played them but after checking into it a bit:
Vanilla - original game with all the fixes
Strawberry - fixes & some popular minor mods
Chocolate - fixes & mods that change gameplay in some way
I think that's how they're set up...
