was just doing some beta flying in a online flight sim, i have been with for a long time

they were holding a beta event to try out some of there new stuff, so sort of a open beta event

had some fun

but the one I liked the best, got into a scape vs 2 or 3 yanks (I was in a 109 G6/R6) got chopped up pretty good, but then some mates came to my aid, and I was able to start heading back towards the field to land

I knew there was a bomber a bit above me, but didn't feel right, was looking over my shoulder, when I heard a engine and seen tracers wizzing past, yanked my nose up, kicked the rudder, and forced a overshoot by the F4u that had dropped onto my tail, as he overshot, I was able to drop my nose, and blasted him out of the sky

think he got greedy, seen me, and seen the field in front of me, so didn't want to break to the sides, so tried to slip past me, and get a easy shot at the planes on the field, trying to take off, guess he didn't think I could get back my nose down that fast

sucker

got 3 clean kills (1 B-25, 1 mossie, and 1 F4u, also had 2 assist on bombers and 2 assists on fighters, but, got knocked down 3 times myself, so guess I a little rusty :), also landed two damaged fighters (hmmm, maybe more rusty then I like to admit)

Talking about flight sims, I'm waiting for the Sturmovik successor, 'Battle of Britain - SOW'.

I also tried the demo of 'Rise of Flight', but found it hard to control with my Saitek X52 HOTAS. It's a shame, since the game looks really good.

naw, not sure if it was even in the plane mix, but wasn't sure what I was going to be up against, for the type of fighting, I should of grabbed a Franz, I can make that dance, a G6/R6 is a little sluggish, and it showed, but the extra guns came in handy

lots of close in fighting, more hack and slash, detection range was very short, oddly, I knew where the bad guys were, before the (sensers) showed them, so my SA was good, but not a good room for close in knife fighting, which is I am good at

one on one, I am deadly, one on two, I can hold my own, one on who knows, gets touchy

My brother is waxing lyrical about Rise of Flight - they released the Fokker Triplane and Sopwith Camel this weekend. Looks (graphics-wise) really good, but no idea about the game play yet and I think it needs a monster PC to get the best out of it.

As for Storm of War - lots of potential and a good pedigree, but no sign of the game yet. [:(]

I fly in WW2 online. Its a little bit old now but its great for numbers of players and you actually have a map you can push back and forward!

Flightsimming is a lot of fun :-)
