A question about A NEXT WitP?

I'll preface by stating that if this is deemed unworthy, by all means to the thread. I do pose a serious question.
?Does the Matrix design team have any thoughts about the next WitP. I've seen quite a few posts regarding things that cannot be upgraded due to complete code re-writes. The obvious question follows - Any plans for a future sequel with a COMPLETE re-write of the code? Obviously this project would take years to see the light of day, so nothing expected. Just a curiosity question hoping for an answer!

Good question! Maybe right now while the team are scrambling to get patch 2 completed is not the very best time to ask it! But a good question even so. I too will wait for the answer....

There's a rumor (I'm starting it right now in this post) that the AE team is putting together a plan for a new WITP. Only developers with children will take part, because the project will span multiple lifetimes.
Further information indicates that because of the addictive nature of WITP & AE, the next generation will be called 'New Coke'.

There's a stack of notes on LCU operations models at the WitP scale on my desk at home, and one of my draft grant proposals is looking at intelligent game AI. I have three students working on exploratory research projects that will feed into the intelligent game AI proposal.
