Surrender

How or where can I find what cities are required to be captured to force a country to surrender? The manual says all VP cities must be captured but it would appear that this is not the case. Poland surrenders when Warsaw is captured, Yugoslavia with Belgrade. But there are more VP cities in each country other than these. Help?

Dont even bother looking for them they are not there or at least when you try to conquer Germany,. I am in Jan 1944 as the allies and every German city every inch of land every tree every pig sty everything everything has been gobbled up by my legions and Germany fights on in "Greece" not a german unit anywheres near Germany so much for city victory points. I know playtesters dont like any comments about the game but I bet they never once finished a game, now if Wastelands tells me every German unit must be defeated then ok I stand corrected. Please tell me and us that I am wrong "please" and victory points count.[&o]

Dear Bo,

Of course we finished games, you lose your bet, but thanks for thinking of us.

To answer the "question" you must take every VP from the Germans which is in territory which is German owned, and German occupied. Thus if Germany took Yugoslavia and the hex now is German-German, then you must take this too. You do not have to take a VP hex which is USSR-German, for example. "Germany" expands as the war goes on.

Maybe this should be added to the wish list for the next patch? Surrender should only apply to the original home territory? I realise this could end in a debate about realism versus just playing a game but doesn't it make more sense to finish games when a power no longer has any 'home territory'?

Britain and France both colonial powers being the exception.

In my next PBEM, Bo is going to be the foreign minister of my realm. Do you think war will be averted?

A great game but it would seem the surrender rules could be worked on.

Where did I hear be charming but carry a big stick, I am deeply honored GW that you would want me to be your foreign minister but first I think I should attend Glen Becks new school on how to win friends in the WH[:D] everyone needs to brush up on their winning ways and maybe just maybe we will learn how to play this game [oops that line was from Remember the Titans]

I want Bo as my head of secret police. Any man thorough enough to take control of even the pig sty would have the inate ability to route out any traitor or spy within my empire [:D]

Thank you Krak for your kind words if you people keep this up [offering me great positions] I might have to go to a tact course [&:] and become a reasonable poster without pointed comments[>:]of course there is another word for agreeing with every thing Wastelands tell us but with my new tact resolution I would not dare utter it.[:-] about the pig sties dont read too much into that Krak, my army was just foraging for food ala Sherman in Georgia in 1865.[:D]
